While some of you have probably seen these at your local Walmart and Target Here is the press release of the first wave of Star Wars Transformers!!

For the first time ever, Star Wars makes a hyperspace jump to the universe of TRANSFORMERS resulting in a galaxy full of Star Wars action figures that are definitely “MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE.”

Harnessing the powers of “the Force” and TRANSFORMERS technology, adversaries such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader will now escalate their skirmishes to a higher level. The action figures can engage in classic battles using light sabers, blasters and other weaponry. Then, the fight elevates to the sky as the toys transform into incredibly detailed versions of their trademark starfighters.

Hasbro, Inc. (NYSE: HAS) will launch the Star Wars TRANSFORMERS line in early January 2006 with three favorite Star Wars characters who transform into their signature vehicle:

• the Darth Vader TRANSFORMERS toy flips into the villain’s Advanced TIE Fighter

• the Obi-Wan Kenobi TRANSFORMERS toy converts into a speedy and elusive Jedi Starfighter,

• and the General Grievous TRANSFORMERS toy switches into his vicious wheel bike

In late January, Luke Skywalker joins the Star Wars TRANSFORMERS line with a toy that changes into the hero’s trusty X-wing fighter.

A second wave, consisting of three additional characters, will arrive in stores in March 2006.

STAR WARS TRANSFORMERS have an approximate retail price of $14.99 and include a two-inch character figure that ‘operates’ the respective vehicles from their cockpit.
