With more than 250 million TONKA trucks sold since 1947, the “Tough as Steel” brand is now forging new roads in the digital entertainment sector. Boys and dads will get the virtual keys to the Mighty TONKA Dump and the rest of the fleet through a deal with video game publisher THQ that will bring the property to the PC Windows and Game Boy Advance gaming platforms this fall.
For the youngest TONKA boy, Hasbro also offers TONKA 2D, a new Style Guide filled with classic TONKA patterns and designs that can be applied to juvenile products, accessories and home décor. To that end, Baby Boom Consumer Products is on tap to extend its home décor line this year to include room accessories with a variety of major retailers. Delta Enterprise will compliment this offering with a line of TONKA-branded wooden furniture. Additional TONKA licensed products slated for 2006 include 23 storybooks, board books, sticker books, educational workbooks and flash cards.
